Pride Racing, how fun? Super fun we say. And important. September and the beginning of October are rainbow coloured for horse racing Sweden. A number of jockeys race in rainbow helmets, and on three race courses we can enjoy Pride Racing race days; Gothenburg Gallop on 4 September , Jägersro Trav on 29 September and Åbytravet on 30 September.

There are also other fun activities! In collaboration with Nordic Choice Hotels horse and Pride related is exhibited on hotels around Gothenburg. On 1 October there will be a  padel tournament co-arranged with Åby Trav & Every Padel and after the padel battle some After Work with live music and karaoke room in collaboration with Quality Hotel the Weaver will be the perfect activity. On 2 October, Horses for Happiness will participate in the West Pride parade. The following date, 3 October, Maria Croon (Managing Director Svensk Travsport), Dennis Engelbo (journalist, Travronden), Malin Connysson (research manager, Wången) and Oskar Svanberg (professional trainer) will gather at the Gothenburg City Library to discuss inclusion and discrimination within the equestrian sport.

 

Pride Racing ends with charity auctions in late September/early October. Among the auction objects are live foal fees, pre-paid training months, Pride helmets and lots of beautiful art. Read more here.
